They followed him, and he thought that they were giving him an "escort". The police thought he was "fleeing the scene". As happens so often, the thugs in blue overreacted. Watch the video. Maybe you think it's only American cops who like to indulge in a bit of mindless violence. Well take a look at this bit of film from the dashboard camera of a police car in England. The 70 year old driver of the Range Rover had been stopped earlier apparently for not wearing a seatbelt. He claims to have been reversing (when it is legal not to have your seat belt on) and thought the police had finished giving him a talking to when he drove off.
