Cops in Dallas now get free cab rides home if they have been drinking.

Oklahoma City Police Chief Bill Citty agreed Tuesday his officers made mistakes Saturday when they rounded up about 20 teenagers on curfew violations in front of the Harkins Bricktown Cinema and hauled them away in what one parent described as a “paddy wagon.”

ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. -- The Elizabethton Police Department and a local mother are at odds over the safety of her ten-year-old daughter. The girl rides her bike to and from Harold McCormick School every day -- one mile each way. Investigators contacted Child Protective Services last week. They think the route is dangerous. The mother, Teresa Tryon, says she knows what's best for her child.

Six men say that 20 Chicago cops assaulted, Tasered and Maced them in a private home, with a helicopter hovering overhead, because the men had shouted that "the kids were OK" as cops patted down a group of 10- and 11-year-old kids on the street.

Cops went sour on a group of kids after a resident in the Haverford Township, Pa., neighborhood sicced police on the youngsters for selling lemonade on a residential street.

Some guy's friend gets killed by a drunk driver and he decides to do something about it. He starts a service to keep drunks off the road by offering free rides home. It turns out that Quincy, Illinois, is well stocked with semi-responsible drunks, so "business" booms. He adds another car to the service, and eventually a bus. Local taxi companies are not amused.

Restaurants and bars are whacked with county health violations if they so much as operate a dysfunctional dishwasher, and yet cops are given free reign to swagger through businesses on horseback in some kind of bizarre display of letting the scum know who their bosses are.
