According to the Ottawa Citizen Prime Minister Stephen Harper was arrested last night after a routine traffic stop.

On Thursday, Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s minority Conservative government announced in its budget that its paper currency will go plastic by late next year, according to the Globe and Mail. The plastic notes will also contain high security features to ensure that the $10 and $20 bills last longer.

Three parents were arrested last week because their children had been truant too many times, officials said Wednesday. Endangering the welfare of a child is a misdemeanor that can carry a prison sentence up to one year. According to the law, endangerment occurs when a person "knowingly acts in a manner likely to be injurious to the physical, mental or moral welfare of a child less than 17 years old.
