After speed cameras, road humps and mobile phone bans, there could be more bad news for Britain's motorists. Police are urging Ministers to give them the power to stop vehicles by remote control.

In what will be seen as yet another example of the in-creasing power of Big Brother, drivers face the prospect of their cars being halted by somebody pushing a button.

According to the Health Department, "accidental overdose is the fourth leading cause of early adult death in New York City, claiming more than 600 lives each year." The agency says about 70,000 pamphlets have been produced at a cost to city taxpayers of slightly more than $32,000.

In Kansas City, Missouri, the police department’s military auxiliary, the “Tactical Response Team,” produced a propaganda video intended to placate public concerns aroused by the increasingly common spectacle of armed raids in residential neighborhoods. Members of Kansas City Tactical Response Team — like their comrades across the country — have been trained by the Pentagon to follow the standard model of military occupation: Use overwhelming force to “pacify” a targeted neighborhood, then try to win the “hearts and minds” of residents to consolidate control.

This video entitled, "Mikko Hypponen: Three types of online attack" is really about the 3rd type of attack... governments hacking their own citizens citing specific instances.

Start at 4:15. In the closing he says, "This is not a question of privacy against security, it is a question of freedom against control. And while we might trust our government right now... any right we give away will be given away for good."

There it was on video: Five heavily armed policemen barge into a hotel in western Mexico before dawn and march out with three handcuffed men in underwear. But police weren't making an arrest. Prosecutors say they apparently were taking orders from criminals. Just hours after the three were seized, they were found asphyxiated and beaten to death. Mexicans have become inured to lurid tales of police collaboration with narcotics gangs during 5 1/2 years of a drug war that has cost more than 47,500 lives.

Anthony Kiedis (Red Hot Chili Peppers) pledges to "be of service to President Obama", and Demi Moore ends the video with, "I pledge to be a servant to our president". Whoa, pretty scary stuff!
