An attorney who represented prisoners detained at Guantanamo Bay was found dead last week in what sources said was a suicide.
Andy P. Hart, 38, a federal public defender in Toledo, Ohio, apparently died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Hart left behind a suicide note and a thumb drive, believed to contain his case files. It is unknown where Hart died, what the suicide note said or whether an autopsy was performed.

Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz donated $70,000 to support Proposition 19 in California, Facebook-er Sean Parker also gave $100,000.

New York - After succumbing to pressure, Nick Santino, a soap opera actor, was so distraught about having, Rocco, his healthy pit bull mix euthanized Tuesday, that he commit suicide from remorse, devastation, and depression.

Santino, who appeared on All My Children and Guiding Light, was found dead by police in the bedroom of his NY condo, on what was his 47th birthday. It appears he died from a pill overdose.

The social network is overhauling its in-house messaging system with a new set of filters that it says will help users reach out and poke each other more effectively; you can see details here. Part of the overhaul: A test that will allow some users to ping people they’re not friends with, if they’re willing to spend a dollar.

Some 1,500 people showed up outside the house of a Hamburg girl celebrating her 16th birthday on Friday, after she posted an invite on social networking site Facebook but mistakenly listed the party as a public event.

A FEW years ago, Facebook was forced to retreat from a new service called Beacon. Eduardo Saverin will be doing a lot of long-distance poking from now on — and probably won't be giving the thumbs-up “like” to Uncle Sam. The billionaire co-founder of Facebook, Inc. has renounced his US citizenship.

Saverin, 30, forfeited his US citizenship back in August, Bloomberg News has learned. The maneuver isn’t all that magnificently out of the ordinary, though. According to a recent report from the US Internal Revenue Service that RT reported on earlier this year, Americans have been renouncing their citizenship in record numbers.
