Never assume that activism is valuable!

Surely this one has some people perplexed. Maybe another way of stating it is that not all activism is equal. Not all labor is valuable. Marx made a fundamental mistake in economics. He thought all value in the market was created by labor. He was wrong. Most of his other errors came out of this error.

"To sell at a farmers market, you need to produce your wares in a commercial kitchen. This is an impossible expense for many of us, so the underground farmers market is about helping to get some exposure for all of our fellow producers without the cash for a commercial kitchen."

"They" are talking about changing some of the exceptions to child labor laws regarding farming. I like to rant about reactionary laws, so here's the latest example.

President Franklin D. Roosevelt, the patron saint of the American labor movement, was a man of strong character. One has to look no further than the heroic way he coped with his crippling polio. For example, although he had a lock on labor's vote, he expressed caution about public sector unions. Here is a little-known letter he wrote to the president of the National Federation of Federal Employees in 1937.
