MARYLAND GOVERNOR TAXES RAIN

Maryland Democratic Governor Martin O’Malley has instituted a tax on citizens for the amount of rain that falls on their property.
The tax, officially known as a "storm water management fee," will be enforced in nine of the state's counties. The state legislature passed it in 2012 purportedly to "raise revenue to cleanup [sic] the Chesapeake Bay," according to MarylandReporter.com.

Under a controversial 2005 domestic security program passed by Congress and known as Real ID, states were required to issue more secure licenses initially by May of 2008, extended to December 2009 and now to May of 2011. DHS said 46 states are not in compliance with the requirements, and 13 have passed laws refusing to participate.

I used to love wild conspiracy theories about the totalitarian police state. But now it’s hard to imagine anything the State wouldn’t do to trample liberty. At best the US Constitution appears to have taught the tyrants to be more creative in their subterfuge. These days the tyrannical laws roll out so fast I hardly have time to write a blog post on one before the next one. Now there is a bold proposal that directly defies the federal government by nullifying federal firearms laws. State nullification of federal law is the legal theory that individual US states have the right to invalidate any federal law that the state finds unconstitutional.

SACRAMENTO — Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has ordered about 200,000 state workers to be paid the federal minimum wage because the state Legislature has not passed a budget.

Department of Personnel Administration Director Debbie Endsley sent the order Thursday in a letter to the state controller. Most state employees will be paid the federal minimum of $7.25 per hour for the July pay period.
