SC bill would deny drivers licenses to high school dropouts

FTA: Under the bill, school districts would report the number of students who aren't attending class or who have more than 10 absences to the Department of Motor Vehicles. Teenagers who can prove they work to support their family, or are 17 and joined the military, are exempt. For underage students who can't prove an exemption, a letter is mailed informing the teen his or her license is suspended.
