Eighth-grader sells marijuana packed brownies to classmates

It turned out not to be your typical brownie sale at one New York City middle school, as a student placed an interesting ingredient in treats prepared for her classmates.

According to The New York Daily News, an eighth-grade girl sold brownies containing marijuana out of her bookbag at Intermediate School 208 in Queens during lunch time.

A 7-year-old boy has been accused of sexual harassment after punching a fellow first-grader in the groin, but the boy's mother says he was acting in self-defense. Tasha Lynch said her son was being choked on a school bus, and has been afraid to go back to school in South Boston ever since. “I think my kid was right to fight back [after he was choked],’’ she said. “He wasn’t doing anything except protecting himself.’’ A spokesman for the Boston public schools confirmed the incident had been classified as possible sexual harassment, but declined to comment it.

The eighth grader taken out of school on April 18 for refusing to change his shirt has returned to school today, in the same shirt.

A few Virginia parents would probably like to know what local school administrators are smoking.

Seventh-grader Adam Grass and three other students at Hickory Middle School in Chesapeake, Va., were suspended last week after being caught with what teachers initially thought was a bag of marijuana but turned out to be a stash of oregano, The Virginian-Pilot reports.

Wrong on several levels, it is humiliating, and it was organized by Rosemount High School administrators. And, yes, it took place in view of the children at the school, because it was during an assembly. The students were blindfolded, and then told that “someone” was going to kiss them. The “someone” was their own parents.

As a third-grader in Winsted, Connecticut, last year, Matthew Asselin was sick -- a lot. He was lethargic and plagued with a persistent wet cough, respiratory infections and painful headaches. ORCHARD, Texas – A third-grader at Brazos Elementary was given a week’s detention for possessing a Jolly Rancher.
School officials in Brazos County are defending the seemingly harsh sentence. The school’s principal and superintendent said they were simply complying with a state law that limits junk food in schools.

The elementary school student, accused of sexually harassing a classmate as a first-grader in 2006, will receive a total of about $160,000 in a legal settlement reached with the city. His parents received $20,000.

A sixth grader takes his mother's jewelry to school and gives it to some friends. It is $7,000 of jewelry, and when contacted, the stepfather "was animate about pressing charges". The kid was handcuffed and taken to juvy.

The real story lies in the bootlicking first few comments. Amazing that people are GLAD that the police got involved.
