(CBS News) It's a code all drivers share: A flash of the high beams is a warning there's a speed trap ahead.

But when police in Florida saw one man doing it, he got slapped with a $115 speeding ticket.

His case was overturned, but in some states, it is illegal to warn other drivers there is a speed trap ahead. Arizona and Alaska forbid flashing of high beams, while the states of New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Virginia allow it.

Lakeway, Texas resident is fed up with the traps in his town and has decided to fight back against them all by his lonesome.

Many people call them "speed traps," cops call them "Speed Enforcement Details." Regardless, they're designed to save lives, but this weekend, a woman on a motorcycle was killed while being pulled over. "They were wearing helmets. They don't drink. They were out for a nice "Sunday cruise" and now Margie is gone," said the victim's friend, Nancie Risola. "Margie's not gone because they were going a little over the speed limit," Risola said. "She's gone because they were stopped in an unsafe place."

Not sure if what is shown here has actually happened yet or just a joke, but what an interesting concept....
