Again, people are arrested for chalking. I call police state, again.

A Los Angeles police officer today fatally shot a man allegedly armed with a knife in downtown Los Angeles.

The shooting occurred about 12:20 p.m. at Fifth and Spring streets, said Los Angeles police Officer Lyle Knight of the Media Relations office. The man, who was not immediately identified, died at a hospital, according to
police.

Protesters wrote "anti-police" slogans with chalk on the city's police station Saturday, leading to eight arrests, police said. The fire department hours later hosed off the colored chalk that police considered "graffiti". - (Note: Quotation marks showing skepticism added by me. ~Deslock Darkstar)

More Los Angeles police officers who have used excessive force, driven while intoxicated, falsely imprisoned people or committed other serious misconduct are being let off without punishment, by a new approach to discipline at the LAPD. Called "Conditional Official Reprimand", instead of handing down suspensions without pay, as was the norm for such offenses, police officials are putting officers on notice that another gaffe of the same sort will bring a severe penalty and possible termination.

At least five Los Angeles police officers are under investigation in the death of a woman who stopped breathing during a struggle that included an officer stomping on her genital area and the use of additional force by others to take her into custody, police officials confirmed Thursday.

Los Angeles (CNN) -- A police officer in Los Angeles who claimed he was shot while patrolling near a high school has now been arrested for making up the story, authorities said.
Officer Jeff Stenroos of the Los Angeles Unified School District Police Department had said he was shot in the chest on January 19 in the west San Fernando Valley. He said the shooting happened when he got out of his squad car to check on a man peering into parked vehicles near the El Camino High School.

Chalk protester Timothy Osmar, who sued the city after his arrest, was paid $6,000 in damages, and the three First Amendment attorneys who took his case split $35,000. But the biggest expense was the two high-powered law firms hired by City Hall: Akerman Senterfitt was paid $83,293, and King, Blackwell, Zehnder & Wermuth was paid $72,070.

This is a story that was posted by a citizen's here in Yakima WA. We have these people that are hired by the city of Yakima that are called "Downtown Ambassadors". These people are supposed to keep our downtown clean and provide information to tourists and locals if needed. Apparently they have been threatning local artists here in our town. Even telling them that they have limited authority over them. These "ambassadors" called the police and tried everthing to get these artists arrested. The cops left them alone but the "ambassadors" continued to harress the artist till they left.

Investigators from the Los Angeles Police Department will now be able to examine some audio tapes that they say could link Charles Manson followers to other murders. A bankruptcy judge has released hours of recorded conversations Manson’s right-hand man Tex Watson had with his attorney in 1969. "The LAPD has information that Mr. Watson discussed additional unsolved murders committed by followers of Charles Manson," said a letter signed by Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck and Lt. Yana Horvatich, acting commanding officer of the robbery-homicide division.
