An “unlawful post,” according to Michigan law (MCL 750.411s), is defined as a message through any medium of communication, including the Internet or other electronic medium, without the victim’s consent, if the posting could cause two or more separate unconsented contacts with the victim; posting the message is intended to cause conduct that would make the victim feel terrorized, frightened, intimidated, threatened, harassed or molested and causes a reasonable person to suffer emotional distress.

During the founding fathers time in office, the major source of information was the type print newspaper. To a lesser extent, person to person communication via word of mouth or hand-written letter also played a role. This was limited because of the time and effort it required to send a message to someone. Luckily in today’s political spectrum, we have a tool that travels around the world in a fraction of a second with just the click of one finger.

Paul Bechtel gave the rude gesture to his soon-to-be-ex-wife Rebecca during a recent appearance in a Sacramento County family court, which didn’t surprise her. Deputies placed him in cuffs for violating a restraining order against him that called for no communication with her. Giving someone the finger, authorities said, is a form of communication. The gesture also qualifies as harassment, Sheriff’s Department spokesman Tim Curran said. “One would consider flipping the bird as harassing somebody, and that’s what the judge believed and he was charged accordingly,” Curran said.

Despite threats levied at him by the claimed "authorities" Ademo Freeman has relentlessly stood up for what's right.

The 2nd Circuit US Court of Appeals has ruled that recording an in-person conversation without the knowledge of all parties is only a violation of federal wiretapping law if the person making the recording intends to use the recording for illegal purposes. At least in the states that do not have explicit laws against recording cops, this should nullify the abuses of wiretapping laws against people recording in public.
