In the North Carolina town of Tar Heel, residents won’t have to worry about Big Government. It’s looking like No Government. Nobody’s on the ballot for November elections, a county elections official told CNN Monday.

Two Oregon political parties and a state senator on Monday sued Oregon Secretary of State Kate Brown over her decision to abbreviate party names on the ballot this year.

State elections officials said the three-letter abbreviations were needed because of a new state law allowing candidates to list the backing of up to three political parties next to their name on the ballot. The "fusion-voting" law was aimed at giving minor parties more clout by allowing them to cross-nominate major-party candidates who would presumably compete for their support.

Over the last two years the problems have continually got worse. Chief Jeff Gilbert is fixated on the politics in this town. He Is personally involved In them and all his time and attention is directed towards political gain to benefit of himself. He is obviously biases towards certain council members and is against and outspoken to other candidate and council members. He runs license plates just to find out names of people whose vehicles are parked at businesses/residences of people he don’t like.

Five other states are conducting presidential primaries, although Republican Mitt Romney and Democrat Barack Obama already have collected enough delegates to win their parties’ nominations. As libertarians, we have tremendous power. However, we are so focused on winning elections that we tend to neglect our real strength. We’re frustrated by the “wasted vote syndrome,” but do little to counter it, even though we hold the key in our hands. That key is activism at the local, state and national level. If we have the power to roll back big government, shouldn’t we use it?

Over the past several days, two political parties have been holding their national conventions. One party holds all conventions online, with online voting and no overhead (other than cost of getting online) for party members who wish to participate. The other party regularly holds conventions in upscale hotels and has recently adopted a mandatory fee for any party member who wishes to be a delegate. One of these parties has only been around for 6 years, the other for 40 and is proving that age does not always equal wisdom.

The town of Vernon, NJ removed the entire corrupt town government. Sadly they choose a different style of town government instead of opting for true freedom.
