A New Hampshire businessman running for sheriff has apologized for saying he wouldn't rule out the use of deadly force to halt an abortion.

Allegedly running what the prosecutor calls "a house of horrors," a Philadelphia physician, Kermit Barron Gosnell, was charged Wednesday with murder and other offenses related to illegal, late-term abortions.

The doctor is accused of causing the death of one of his female patients and killing seven viable babies in illegal abortions, Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams said.

The babies were born alive in the sixth, seventh and eighth months of pregnancy, but their spinal cords were allegedly severed with scissors, Williams said in a statement.

Bill introduced into NH General Court to eliminate the right to use deadly force anywhere you have a right to be, changes the definition of non deadly force, and repeals provisions granting civil immunity for the use of force in certain circumstances.

Three years ago today, abortion provider Dr. George Tiller was shot dead while attending church in Wichita, Kansas. Reproductive healthcare providers remain the target of violence amid a wave of new legislation curtailing access to safe abortions. Last week, two clinics in Georgia and a women’s organization in New Orleans were set ablaze. Today, the House of Representatives votes on the Prenatal Nondiscrimination Act to ban abortions based on the sex of a fetus. Bills are also in the works to ban abortions 20 weeks after fertilization in Louisiana and Washington, D.C.

New York City is the abortion capital of America. More than 40 percent of pregnancies in New York City end in abortion (excluding miscarriages), nearly twice the national rate. The abortion rate among the city’s black residents is a jaw-dropping 60 percent. In 2009, New York City saw more than 87,000 abortions—one roughly every six minutes.

A state Supreme Court ruling last year that “there is no right to reasonably resist unlawful entry by police officers,” when a man was charged with assaulting an officer during a domestic-violence call. The NRA pushed for a new law that allows residents to use deadly force in response to the “unlawful intrusion” by a “public servant” to protect themselves and others, or their property. Police lobbied against it. The measure requires those using force to “reasonably believe” a law-enforcement officer is acting illegally and that it’s needed to prevent “serious bodily injury.”

On Friday, Bernalillo County Sheriff Manny Gonzales arrested one of his primary opponents, 24 year-old Joshua Timberman (a liberty candidate), after a bench warrant was issued for a speeding ticket in Santa Fe.

Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr. has a message for residents in his jurisdiction: You can't rely on him anymore. You need to arm yourself.

A man who said he killed a US abortion doctor in Kansas to save the lives of unborn babies has been found guilty of first-degree murder.

(Note: I'm a pro-choice libertarian; I submit this article for two reasons. First, because I support abortion rights; pro-life libertarianism is based on a superficial understanding of the NAP. Second, the convicted murderer initiated force against the doctor; the doctor had not physically assaulted him, yet the man killed the doctor.)
