FDLE investigating deputy-involved shooting in Leesburg - "[Deputies] were looking for attempted murder suspect Jonathan Brown. Deputies said they found Brown's motorcycle in front of Scott's apartment and believed Brown was inside.

They said they knocked on the door and when Scott opened the door, he had a gun in his hand. Deputies said Scott had the gun pointed in their direction, so one of the deputies opened fire, killing Scott."

Lake County Coroner Thomas Rudd has reversed his office’s ruling from “undetermined” to “homicide” in the case of a man who died after North Chicago police restrained him, hit him with batons and shocked him with a Taser.

Deputies say they knocked several times on Mapes’ front door and received no response. The front door was unlocked and Mapes’ car was in the garage, according to reports.

When Mapes confronted them with a gun the deputies started backing off. And after she started shooting the deputies said they “thought they were going to die,” according to the arrest report

Sheriff Mike Scott said last week the deputies were at Mapes’ home for “a little more than a welfare check.” The sheriff also defended the deputies for shooting the elderly woman.

The District 21 Medical Examiner ruled his death was a homicide because he had been restrained and sprayed with pepper sprayed by law enforcement officers. But to this day, nobody has ever been charged with a crime, and the Lee County State Attorney cleared the sheriff's office of any wrong doing

Relations between the King County Sheriff's Office and the state Department of Corrections have been strained by the shooting of Dustin Theoharis, who last winter was shot multiple times, survived and plans to bring a civil suit.
The incident occurred inside an Auburn-area house Feb. 11. The man who was shot, Dustin Theoharis, now 29, survived multiple wounds to his arms, legs, torso and jaw, including fractures that required a series of surgeries.

"He is thankful to be alive, but he has a long way to go to recover," said his attorney, Erik Heipt, of Seattle.

Following a three-month investigation, the Rockingham County Attorney's office concluded that on December 7, 2009, Officer Charles Karpenko accidentally fired a round from his handgun while at a residence for a call about a possible domestic disturbance. But, County Attorney James Reams concluded, while the shooting is not in line with Hampton or state police policies and training, the officer did not commit a crime of reckless conduct

"This footage is proof that Scott Olsen was shot in the face by police without provocation during the Occupy Oakland march on Tuesday October 25. The moment leading up to the shooting, Olsen was standing completely still. He was then hit in the head with a tear gas canister, which is potentially fatal."
