A sheriff's deputy in Lee county, FL was actually fired for use of excessive force on a handcuffed man and lying about the encounter! Video taken from one of the jail cameras contradicted the deputy's story and he was fired following an investigation.

AKRON, Ohio - A Summit County Sheriff's Deputy has been suspended after video showed him assaulting an inmate. Surveillance cameras were rolling in the booking area of the Summit County Jail on February 21, as 42-year-old Douglas Brown waited to be booked on a charge of disorderly conduct. Deputy Jeffrey Dempsey then instructed Brown to put down a fingerprint reader he was holding. When Brown refused, and gave him the finger, the deputy slapped him in the head and threw him to the ground.

NICEVILLE — A man says he broke a trespass order because he was not aware of it, according to an arrest report from the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.

A deputy was called to a Niceville home on July 18 at around 8 a.m. The homeowners said the 53-year-old man had been yelling obscenities throughout the morning.

On Jan. 2, he was warned by the Niceville Police Department to stay off the property. After being read his rights, the man told the deputy he did not know about the Jan. 2 trespass warning because he had never signed a document “agreeing to that.”

Former Passaic County Sheriff, Jerry Speziale, is being investigated for giving sheriff badges out in exchange for campaign donations and for using the county motor pool to have automobile repairs performed for campaign donors.

On August 10th Jerry Speziale resigned his position as sheriff to take a $198,510 job with the Port Authority Police as Deputy Superintendent. He was appointed to this position by Governor Christie.

Federal authorities filed the civil rights charge after a Jackson County judge placed Burgess on probation. Burgess had pleaded guilty in Jackson County Circuit Court to charges of statutory sodomy and sexual assault for his actions during the July 2007 incident.

The man, 20, was driving east on U.S. Highway 40 near Strawberry Reservoir when a deputy tried to stop him for going 15 miles over the speed limit, according to Wasatch County Chief Deputy Sheriff Jared Rigby. The driver did not stop and the deputy told dispatchers he was pursuing a fleeing driver. A short time later, a dispatcher notified the deputy that the driver had called in and said “that he was not going to stop and that I needed to leave him alone,” Rigby said, reading from the deputy's report.

Apparently facing mounting financial woes, Hancock County Sheriff Calvin K. "Bud" Gray siphoned more than $3,000 in public funds into his own accounts, according to authorities who arrested the sheriff Friday at a Shelby County casino.

Gray was being held without bail Friday night at the Hamilton County Jail in Noblesville on a felony charge of obstruction of justice, Hancock County Prosecutor Dean Dobbins said. Other charges, including theft and official misconduct, are likely, Dobbins added.

SPRING HILL - A Hernando County Sheriff's deputy is out of the hospital this morning after he was shot entering the home of a suspect Monday night.

The sheriff's SWAT team members returned fire and killed the suspect, whose name hasn't been released.
