The DEA employed an informant, the driver, and the truck of his employer to pose as a marijuana trafficker to catch other traffickers. The employer, who owns the truck, didn't know. Driver gets killed, truck shot up. Out of control DEA. Seriously. For pot.

A Texas state trooper who fired on a pickup truck from a helicopter during a deadly chase through the desert was trying to disable the vehicle and suspected that it was being used to smuggle drugs, the authorities said. The disclosure on Friday came a day after the episode, which left two illegal immigrants from Guatemala dead on a gravel road near here, just north of the Mexican border. State game wardens were the first to encounter the truck on Thursday.

Commandeered by one of his drivers, who was secretly working with federal agents, the truck had been hauling marijuana from the border as part of an undercover operation. And without Patty's knowledge, the Drug Enforcement Administration was paying his driver, Lawrence Chapa, to use the truck to bust traffickers.

SPOKANE – Deputies arrested two men after a 3 hour standoff in Otis Orchards.
Authorities pulled the men over in a truck because of invalid license plates. Deputies said 58-year-old David Galland and 55-year-old Michael Hicks refused to cooperate so they called in for reinforcements.
SWAT team members surrounded the truck near E. Kildea and N. Starr Road just before 2:00 Wednesday afternoon.
