On Monday state police in Kentucky, one of the 19 states that have banned salvia, arrested Jo Ann Warner, owner of Dusty's Adult World in Mortons Gap, and charged her with 23 counts of "prohibited practices concerning substances that simulate controlled substances," a Class A misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail for each count. Here the government takes a law that should not exist and kicks it up another nonsensical notch, criminalizing not only consensual drug transactions but actions that resemble them.

they where dealing with the drug war.. but it goes to show what happens when cops talk out.

America’s largest banks can engage in flagrantly criminal activity on a massive scale and emerge almost completely unscathed. The latest sickening example comes from Wachovia Bank: Accused of laundering $380 billion in Mexican drug cartel money, the financial behemoth is expected to emerge with nothing more than a slap on the wrist thanks to an official government policy which protects megabanks from criminal charges.

The story cites all the horrors of the drug war, but doesn't aknowledge that it is the drug war itself, that is the problem. It mentions than Iran is the biggest user of heroin. Don't they have strict drug laws? It's the "worlds" job to control drug use

"If we're going to impose standards on drug testing, then it should apply to everybody who receives government money." - Do they realize that it's not their money?

* 124 Fatalities associated with these reports.

Federal authorities have arrested a New York Police Department officer on charges he helped a crew of bandits rob drug dealers.

Prosecutors in Brooklyn alleged Thursday that Emmanuel Tavarez supplied the crew with NYPD raid jackets, bulletproof vests, handcuffs and badges so they could impersonate police officers during staged raids on drug dens in Queens and elsewhere.

They say he also acted as a lookout during armed holdups that netted hundreds of kilograms of cocaine.
