A national Amber Alert was issued Wednesday for two Tampa-area boys after they were abducted by their "anti-government" parents, deputies say. A grandmother was tied up at a Tampa home Wednesday morning and the two children in her possession were taken by their parents in what investigators are calling a parental abduction/kidnapping. The parents are considered armed and dangerous. According to investigators, the couple lost custody of the two boys after an "anti-government" rally in Louisiana. The father was charged was possession of marijuana in the presence of the children.

"I'm going to beat you into submission," the 'honorable' William Adams shouted at his disabled daughter as she attempted to deflect his swings with a leather belt. To his daughter Hillary, this was routine. Suspecting it was wrong, she set up a camera and recorded the 7-minute beating she received from both her parents. This is the sort of human waste that the state puts in charge of settling custody disputes and recommending children to foster care. Is it any wonder the system is so F'ed up?

The mother of a 4½-month-old Alberta infant who died six days after she was taken into government care is rejecting the allegations that led to the child's seizure.

Two social workers and an RCMP officer went to the woman's central Alberta house on April 5. The woman's lawyer said they had an apprehension order for her roommate's children but also ended up taking the baby girl.

The child died six days later on April 11 after spending time in foster care.

“We’re outside. We should have freedom to smoke,” City Hall Park smoker Harvey Forbes told CBS 2’s Magee Hickey.

By a vote of 36 to 11 on Wednesday the City Council approved a bill to ban smoking in all city parks, beaches and pedestrian plazas.
