Nearly 30 years after publishing V for Vendetta, writer Alan Moore and artist David Lloyd are throwing their support behind the global Occupy movement that’s drawn inspiration from their comic’s anti-totalitarian philosophy and iconography.

A Pittsburgh-area police officer is accused of breaking into a neighbor's home. Weirder: Officer Jason Rocco allegedly did so ... so he could wash his clothes. A local station reports that the home's owner noticed his electric bill was unusually high, given that he hadn't lived in the house for months. When the owner visited, investigators say he found the dryer running with Rocco's clothes inside.

A group of Vancouver marijuana activists occupied Conservative MP James Moore's Port Moody office on Tuesday to demand an end to the extradition of 'Prince of Pot' Marc Emery.

Government bureaucracy forced this situation and yet the business owner is penalized. The funeral director was called by law enforcement to remove a body that had been found in a home in the summer. By law, he couldn't cremate or bury the body without authorization from next of kin or an official with the county DSS, who would not return his calls. The state medical examiner's office refused to take the body. The body was sent to a crematory for cold storage, but the odor was so bad they brought it back the next day.

I'm sure Marco Sauceda felt served and protected when the police entered his home and sprayed him with pepper spray, battered him, and tackled him because they thought he was a burglar. As it turns out, Mr. Sauceda was in his own home, is developmentally-challenged, and does not speak English. A jury of Mr. Sauceda's "peers" found that his actions of retreating further into the house and locking the door were "resisting arrest", worthy of a $500 fine and 30 days in jail.

"Investigators who searched indicted Jackson police officer Marvent Brooks' home last week after his arrest found marijuana, crack pipes, a digital scale, gas grenades, homemade silencers and guns, according to a search warrant."

CEDAR RAPIDS – Police in SWAT gear busted through a door and searched a Cedar Rapids home for drugs Thursday morning, but came up empty.
At least 12 officers surprised the tenants at 1135 33rdSt. NE when they arrived around 7 a.m. with a narcotics search warrant. Sgt. Cristy Hamblin, a police spokeswoman, later confirmed that nothing was seized from the house.
No one was taken to jail, but the tenants of the house, Justin Davis, 28, and his girlfriend, Erica Lewis, 26, were charged with disorderly house and signed a promise to appear in court, police said. No one was injured during the raid.

Walter Samaszko Jr, 69, died at his home in Carson City, Nev., with $200 in a bank account, but as officials later discovered, he had about $7 million stored neatly around his home. According to the coroner, Samaszko had been dead for at least a month, dying of heart problems. Cleanup crews found boxes of gold in the garage, at which point, "we took the house apart,” said Carson City clerk-recorder Alan Glover. As for who can lay claim to the riches -- Glover said the IRS will take $750,000 -- and that the rest will likely go to a first cousin.
