A number of people are outraged about a police shooting in Sandusky. An officer shot and killed a dog he says he felt threatened by, but the owner says the videotape tells a different story. The whole thing was caught on dashcam. The police say the shooting was a matter of safety, but the owners argue the dog was not a serious threat and that there were other options.

An article I wrote for Cop Block (copblock.org) about a recent police shooting in Phoenix where a cop who killed a man was arrested on the testimony of his partner. Police Union bailed shooter out. His partner and accuser is not a union member (Arizona is a 'right to work' state where there are no closed shops, even in government).

In Japan, you cannot buy a handgun, much less an assault rifle. In fact, even off-duty police officers are banned from carrying guns. You can buy a shotgun or an air rifle, but it is not easy: 1) First, you have to take a class and a written exam. 2) Then there's a skill test at a shooting range 3) Next is a drug test 4) Then a mental evaluation. 5) Assuming you pass all those tests, you file with the police, who then run a background check. No wonder Japan has one of the lowest gun ownership rates in the world. But does it work? In 2008, the U.S. had 12,000 gun-related murders. Japan had 11.

Police attempt yet another cover up....this time after shooting a sleeping 7yr old girl. If you or I "accidently" shot and killed a child while forcing our way into someone's home, I'm guessing we'd be in jail. Cop says grandmother caused him to discharge firearm, victims claim the gun was shot from outside and ....these cops are CRAZY!!!
