Today, he is facing felony charges after viciously striking a man 15 times with his baton, leaving him with a concussion.

Anne Arundel County prosecutors are filing charges Wednesday morning against a man who shot Bear-Bear, a Siberian husky, at a dog park in a Severn dog park about two weeks ago.

The misdemeanor charges against Keith Shepherd, 32, of Severn, a civilian police officer for the Army in Northern Virginia, are animal cruelty and discharging a firearm within 100 yards of an occupied home, according to a statement by prosecutors.

A North Georgia man is charged with murder after authorities say he put vodka in his 4-month-old's baby bottle, leading to her death -- an incident that his public defender says was an accident. The infant girl died June 8, 2011, after she drank the vodka. Just over a year later, a DeKalb County grand jury indicted her father, Keith Antonine Furlow, on felony murder and second-degree cruelty to children, according to the court document filed Thursday.

Following a three-month investigation, the Rockingham County Attorney's office concluded that on December 7, 2009, Officer Charles Karpenko accidentally fired a round from his handgun while at a residence for a call about a possible domestic disturbance. But, County Attorney James Reams concluded, while the shooting is not in line with Hampton or state police policies and training, the officer did not commit a crime of reckless conduct

A preliminary finding by Seattle police is that the Aug. 30 fatal shooting of a homeless woodcarver by an officer isn't justified, The Seattle Times reported. A source confirmed to seattlepi.com that Ian Birk, the officer who fired the fatal shots, has surrendered his gun and badge.

A cop leaves the trained dog in the car and the dog dies. For anyone else, this would be animal neglect charges. Considering the K-9 dog is an "officer" this should be a felony. Instead, tax dollars will most likely go toward buying a new dog for this neglectful cop...

In an incident caught on cell phone camera, the as yet-unnamed officer showed up at the 15-year-old boy's home on his cycle and in full uniform, handcuffed the boy in his family's living room, and berated him. "Not a good thing that the person you had sex with is a cop's daughter," the officer purportedly tells the boy on the video. "The district attorney will probably file charges. ... A cop's daughter is not somebody you mess around with. You're stupid."

A 41-year-old man faces felony charges after firing a shotgun at the fence around his home to "blow off steam" after an argument with his wife. No one was injured by the shots and the only property the man damaged was his own, but police booked him with illegally discharging a weapon and aggravated criminal damage to property, which are both felonies, and "disrupting the peace."
