The inmate who dubbed himself "Lawsuit Zeus" in one of his thousands of court cases has filed up to four of his handwritten petitions a day in Kentucky courts alone.

If his diary and witness accounts are to be believed, Nicholas Pinto endured months of physical, sexual and mental abuse in prison. Guards roughed him up, made him stand naked in a cold cell for hours at a time, and taunted him relentlessly. A fellow inmate raped him night after night, beat him when he resisted, and stole his possessions.

And no one, he claimed, did a thing about it.

US 6th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled 2-1 that prison officials have immunity, shielding them from paying $625,000 in rape damages to Ohio inmate Michelle Ortiz. The woman was punished with solitary confinement for reporting the rape.
