"Michael Green has spent the last 27 years in prison after being convicted on a rape charge. Green's conviction was overturned and a judge ordered that he be released from prison. That was supposed to happen on Thursday morning. For now, he's still in the Harris County Jail. After the family waited for the hearing to begin, they were told they'll have to wait another day. The reason was because Green was too emotional about being released.

The GAO has released its conclusion on a study commissioned to study a Pentagon study on its own studies. The study's conclusion was that the study of studies was ineffective. The taxpayer-funded cost for the worthless studies was not released, however.

Himalayan glaciers are actually advancing rather than retreating, claims the first major study since a controversial UN report said they would be melted within quarter of a century.

Despite the onslaught of politicians attempting to project an air of question around man-made climate change, studies continue to emerge proving the connection between human actions and our changing environment. The most recent study, published in Nature Climate Change, finds an "anthropogenic fingerprint" (human influence) on our warming oceans. The study, "Human-Induced Global Ocean Warming On Multidecadal Timescales," was conducted by researchers in the U.S., Australia, Japan and India.

Nearly 1 in 3 Young People Will Be Arrested by Age 23

A recently released study claims that nearly 1 in 3 U.S. youths will be arrested for a non-traffic offense by age 23. Zero-tolerance policies and a broadened definition of alcohol offenses are the cause of the trend.

When the Environmental Protection Agency said in late June that it would force Western coal-fired power plants to install haze-reducing pollution-control equipment at a cost of $1.5 billion a year, it said it had to in order to settle a lawsuit by environmental groups.

One organization involved in the suit, the Environmental Defense Fund, has a long history of taking the EPA to court. In fact, a cursory review finds almost half a dozen cases in the past 10 years.
