Activist faces three months in prison for filming police who was not wearing his seat belt

Young civil rights activist arrested after police found him with the M1 carbine strapped to his back. Says he and a girlfriend had gone to see a movie and had some spare time, so he decided to walk around the business district with the rifle to exercise his open carry rights under Michigan law. Police officers all testified that he appeared several years younger than 18. He was arrested "only" after he repeatedly refused to provide identification showing he was of legal age to be carrying a weapon.

"Diop Kamau was a cop in California when his father was roughed up during a traffic stop by officers from another police department.

That incident prompted Kamau to quit his job as an officer and begin a new career documenting police abuses on videotape, especially those involving racial profiling, since he and his father are black.

This happened in the late 1980s, well before the internet began regularly broadcasting police abuse videos and even before the infamous Rodney King video.

Today, he runs a website titled Police Abuse where he frequently posts videos of these encounters."

Filming in public is looked down upon in the UK as well. Agent Smith flashes a police badge and asked if I new why they where here. I said no. He said that I had been filming in Idolwells shopping centre and around town and asked if they could come in, I said no and went to get my camera. This is what happened.

The officer "escorted" her back, which means he grabbed her by the arm and dragged her back. Then she started yelling at him and pull away. The second girl intervened and he socked her.

But the best part I think, is that the public surrounds the scene with camera phones.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Police video recorded the night a young man was fatally shot in a northeast Arkansas patrol car while his hands were cuffed behind his back hasn't resolved questions about whether he shot himself in the head as officers said.

LAPD Sheriff's deputies shoot unarmed 16 year old in the back:

"When officers asked Cody and his friend to pull up their T-shirts, Cody ran for an unknown reason, Sweeney said. He said Cody ran about 20 or 25 feet and an officer shot him in the back."

Here is the video of Mr. Derrick, a motorist tased by police from the Columbia Missouri police department after just 23 seconds! He was stopped for allegedly having no front license plate. He was tasered 23 seconds later. He asked why he was stopped - the policeman responded that he had no license (false - it was in the police officer's hand). The policeman signalled that he smelled marijuana (touched his nose - the other officer shook his head, indicating that he did not smell marijuana. Mr. Derrick was tasered, beaten, maced and arrested. Why? Resisting Arrest!
