Police in Hampton are using a 26-foot portable surveillance tower to keep an eye on people at Hampton Beach.

The tower has four digital video cameras mounted on top, and the cameras can be used to zoom in to closely watch people along a wide stretch of the beach.

The cameras can be accessed by police officers either at the tower itself or remotely via laptops.

One UK businessman thinks he has come up with a solution by recruiting volunteers to watch live CCTV footage streamed over the web in return for cash prizes.
