Instead of having your voice be heard, the town Police Chief beats the hell out of you and slams your face into the ground. His assault results in you dislocating your knee, bruising your ribs, and leaves you with a black eye and $1500 in medical bills.

The city council where I live is deciding whether to allow things that already exist. They voted no the first time around because the owner did't beg for permission. The council is hell bent on deciding what can be done on private property and making sure the owner knows who's in charge. Again, government fails at all levels and crushes entrepeneurs.

Why is the GOP Establishment so scared of a Ron Paul nomination? Romney has it in the bag, Dr. Paul doesn't have a hope in hell. The conventional wisdom is they want to present the party 100% behind Romney. Gee, would acknowledging there was some competition for the job be that damaging? By sabotaging the Paul campaign throughout the process they exposed themselves as corrupt. If they played by the GOP rules with Ron Paul, there would be a minor contest, Romney would still have won, and most of the the Republican rank and file would fall in behind Romney.

The president whose legacy is partly defined by three words -- "no new taxes" -- seems to care little about the ubiquitous pledge that touts the same phrase. In the 112th Congress, 238 representatives and 41 senators -- all but three of them Republicans -- have taken the pledge. "The rigidity of those pledges is something I don’t like," Bush said.

As a dog lover myself, I realize this would be a horrifying and stressful situation. But a police officer should be able to deal with it a hell of a lot better than this.
