Josh Welch is a seven-year-old-boy who attends Park Elementary School in Brooklyn Park. The Maryland school has a breakfast “snack time” and provided pastries on Friday. Josh was trying to turn his pastry into a shape. Josh chewed his breakfast pastry into the shape of a gun and was suspended for two days.
'Change has come to America' - Obama's speech in full
President-elect Barack Obama spoke to the world from his home city of Chicago as he became the first black president of the United States.
Here is the full text of his victory speech:
“If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible, who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time, who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer.
Is it just me or do these people sound like they have an agenda to push against anonymity and the freedom of speech on the internet? Stories from the recent past have raised my concerns about a push for “regulations” for the internet which is for the most part the greatest beacon of liberty for ideas there is in the present day.
President Obama came to Bowie State University and was met by a student that spoke out against his speak concerning how conservatives and Republicans are the reason for today’s economic condition. The student screamed out “you’re a liar”, causing the president to pause his speech. Then the student was physically beaten up by supporters, cursed down, and thrown side to side Obama then immediately changed his speech to start to defend himself and policies
While a handful of Americans might have taken a few minutes to reflect favorably on George Washington and Abe Lincoln on Presidents Day, some evangelical leaders devoted their time to praying for Barack Obama's death. The "Imprecatory Prayer" is a favorite of Arizona’s Baptist preacher Steven L. Anderson and Orange County's Wiley Drake, who told supporters in an email over the weekend that the supplication is "now your DUTY."
