The LAPD is currently conducting the largest organized manhunt in LA history. The search now spans four States, California, Nevada, Arizona and New Mexico. The suspect is former LAPD officer and ex-US Navy reservist, Christopher Dorner who has declared “unconventional and asymmetrical warfare” on the LAPD, their families, and any associated agencies who assist the officers he refers to as “enemy combatants.”

In all this insanity I can’t help but feel like I’m reading about a live action reenactment of an episode in the life of Frank Castle, the sociopathic antihero known as The Punisher.

A former LAPD officer was suspected early Thursday morning of shooting another officer to death overnight and wounding two others even as authorities hunted for him in connection with an earlier double-homicide, CBS News correspondent Bill Whitaker reports. According to documents from a court of appeals hearing in October 2011, Dorner was fired from the LAPD after he made a complaint against his field training officer, Sgt. Teresa Evans. Dorner said that in the course of an arrest, Evans kicked suspect Christopher Gettler, a schizophrenic with severe dementia.

Christopher Dorner, a LAPD officer who was fired for making "false statements" about a brutal police beating, has gone on a mission of revenge to take out all officers involved as well as their families. He has so far killed three officers as well as the daughter of another. There is a massive manhunt for him that resulted in the police shooting of two women who were delivering newspapers using a truck similar to the one owned by Officer Dorner. His manifesto describes heinous police corruption.

A key Republican Congressman from New York has a new definition for the word "terrorism" that doesn't require the use of violence or even fear or even logical sense.

Federal public prosecutors in Belgium will institute legal proceedings against the church of Scientology in that country and seek to recognize it as a criminal organization. The church of Scientology -- which is not recognized as a faith in Belgium -- and several of its top-ranking members face charges including extortion, fraud, illegal practice of medicine and violation of privacy laws, according to Flanders News.
