The global war on drugs has "failed" according to a new report by group of politicians and former world leaders.

The Global Commission on Drug Policy report calls for the legalisation of some drugs and an end to the criminalisation of drug users.

Apparently this guy had an illegal pharmacy selling medication for 1/3 the cost.

"Authorities say 66-year-old Lawrence Carl Runke, of Clarksdale, was indicted in the case last April. A Yavapai County Superior Court jury on Jan. 14 found Runke guilty of 12 criminal counts that included conspiracy, money laundering, sale of prescription drugs, possession of prescription drugs for sale and possession of dangerous drugs for sale."

Report of the global commission on drugs says the global war on drugs has failed, with devastating consequences for individuals and societies around the world. It suggests to end the criminalization, marginalization and stigmatization of people who use drugs but who do no harm to others. Challenge rather than reinforce common misconceptions about drug markets, drug use and drug dependence.

Great points are brought up throughout the movie. Unfortunately even with so many indisputable facts, the debate at the end proved that people will always believe government is required in order to keep people safe.

Libertarians are often marginalized, typically by the right, for wanting to legalize drugs. ”Whaddya wanna have HEROIN in vending machines!?!”, as some have ridiculously asked.
And while it’s true that Libertarians don’t support government action for dealing with a drug problem, it isn’t usually true that we think that people should use HARD drugs.
