PROBABLY HOMELESS AND LOOKING FOR SHELTER. A 38-year-old man brought a prescription pill to the police station Monday and asked to be arrested for drug possession. Christopher Dennis Dollar came into the police station lobby and handed the pill to an officer, according to a news release from the DeFuniak Springs Police Department. He told the officer that he needed to be arrested for possession of Xanax without a prescription. Dollars was charged with a third-degree felony for possession of drugs without a prescription.

"Authorities say 66-year-old Lawrence Carl Runke, of Clarksdale, was indicted in the case last April. A Yavapai County Superior Court jury on Jan. 14 found Runke guilty of 12 criminal counts that included conspiracy, money laundering, sale of prescription drugs, possession of prescription drugs for sale and possession of dangerous drugs for sale."

You may recall Jerome was arrested for felony gun possession during a visit to NYC last September. He voluntarily checked in his firearm at the Empire State Building, as it was legally registered in another state, and he believed he was in compliance with the law. The somewhat good news for 2nd Amendment advocates is that the Manhattan District Attorney has offered a plea deal to a misdemeanor with no jail time. But Jerome adamantly refuses any deal. He wants all charges dropped. Period.

A former Pleasant Hill police officer who stole methamphetamine from an evidence room and crashed his squad car was sentenced Friday to probation.

Former Sgt. Daniel Hebert Edwards, 42, pleaded guilty in August of possession of a controlled substance, operating while intoxicated, and third-degree burglary. On Friday, he received one year of probation for the drug-possession charge, one year for operating while intoxicated, and three years for burglary.
