The purpose of this statement is to make clear the facts of my unlawful arrest by the Moscow police on August 17, 2012, outside the courthouse where the trial of the band Pussy Riot was taking place. I need make no complicated arguments, as there is a large amount of professional video publicly available that shows the police violently seizing me while I was chatting with journalists and later physically assaulting me. I plan to file suit for this illegal arrest and against the officers who attacked me.

Cops arrest 2 guys and hold them in jail for 5 days for "drugs" that turned out to be candy. Oh yeah, it smelled like candy too, but neither a $0 sniff test or a $20 field test to determine the mens guilt or innocence was performed before they were sent off to jail.

English common law recognizes to right to resit unlawful arrest by reasonable force.
That right should be dusted off and reasserted.

A former Barre City Police officer who allegedly stole a neighbor’s new television last year, and then tossed it into the Winooski River, was sentenced to imprisonment, according to a news release Thursday from the Vermont Office of the Attorney General.

Zak Winston a Montpelier resident, was convicted in May for felony unlawful trespass, misdemeanor unlawful mischief and misdemeanor resisting arrest.

After a contested sentencing hearing Thursday, Winston will serve a 60-day prison sentence.
