President Barack Obama has an unexpected foreign policy problem – in
the Western United States. The Lakota Sioux nation has seceded from the
United States, according to a story on the anti-American website La Voz de Aztlan.

“We are no longer citizens of the United States of America and all
those who live in the five-state area that encompasses our country are
free to join us,” long-time Native American radical leader Russell Means said. The move potentially impacts the states of Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana and Wyoming.

During the Cold War, the Doomsday Clock was created as a subjective measure of the possibility of a nuclear exchange between the United States and the Soviet Union. Today, as a result of the most recent decisions of the Supreme Court of the United States which clearly repudiate the original Constitution of the United States, and thus are placing the reasons for union between the states in jeapardy, I would like to announce...the Secession Clock. The original position of the Secession Clock on its first day, June 28, 2012 is placed at Six o'clock.

This resolution might give some of Hawaii back to native Hawaiians. Congress is arguing over whether Hawaiians are legally equivalent to native Americans.

Native American tribes decide it's faster to buy their land back than to get their treaties honored by the US government. States and counties opposed because they'll lose tax revenue and the land won't be subject to local law.

As of Saturday November 10, 2012, 15 States have petitioned the Obama Administration for withdrawal from the United States of America in order to create its own government.

States following this action include: Louisiana, Texas, Montana, North Dakota, Indiana, Mississippi, Kentucky, North Carolina, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, Colorado, Oregon and New York. These States have requested that the Obama Administration grant a peaceful withdrawal from the United States.

28% of adults believe it is at least somewhat likely that some states will try to leave the United States and form an independent country over the next 25 years or so; just 21% of voters nationwide believe the government today has the consent of the governed.

We, the undersigned people of the United States of America respectfully request that the President of the United States of America grant us his assurance that he will permit the peaceful withdrawal of any State, territory and/or tribe from the Union of the United States of America, should such an action be undertaken.

n response to an ongoing conflict over electronic bingo and other kinds of gambling, at least one legislator in Alabama's Seventh Congressional District--which includes part of the state's "Black Belt"--are discussing the possibility of seceding from Alabama and forming a new state. Residents of the district, over 60% of whom are African-American, claim that they are being slighted by the state government. The secession question speaks to a larger question: Does the United States have the right number of states? Should we have more?

Mr. Saverin, a Brazilian-born immigrant to the United States, now lives in Singapore, which has no capital gains tax. He renounced his United States citizenship in September. With that act of antipatriotism, Mr. Saverin stands to avoid at least $67 million in United States taxes.

“Mr. Saverin has decided to ‘defriend’ the United States of America just to avoid paying his taxes. We aren’t going to let him get away with it so easily,” Mr. Schumer said. “It’s infuriating to see someone sell out the country that welcomed him and kept him safe, educated him and helped him become a billionaire.”
