US government rescinds 'leave internet alone' policy

"The US government’s policy of leaving the Internet alone is over, according to Obama’s top official at the Department of Commerce."

This is not good. Once the gov't "takes" control of the internet, it'll be very easy to clamp down on "free speech". They say its to help businesses with cyber-security, but as a Network Admin, thats MY job to make sure the company I work for is secure. I'm sure the RIAA is also behind this as its also to protect copyright laws. When will the people of this country realize that the politicians and corporations are completely in bed with each other and all they do is screw us over?
