A hairdresser has been hit with a £1,500 bill for having a radio on while giving customers a trim.

Manager Neil Hull had bought a music licence from music royalties body, the Performing Rights Society (PRS), which he believed allowed him to play pop music in public.

However, a SECOND royalties collector, the Phonographic Performance Ltd (PPL), told a court that he needed a further music licence from IT to put the radio or CDs on.

A gaunt 18-year-old Georgia man told California police his stepfather had banished him and sent him on a cross-country bus ride after the stepfather had confined him to a room for four years, authorities said. He is seeking to have the officers removed from the Pittsburgh Police Force. The officers beat the seventeen year old, but found no weapon, lied in their report, used excessive force and sent the teen to West Penn Hospital. Officers threatened to stage a "Blue Flu" when the teen showed up for court. He resisted the officers lawful ass kicking.

Police say they were in the process of arresting Jordan M. McLean on a warrant when they decided to search his pockets. According to an arrest report, they found a single donut wrapped in a tissue in one of his pockets. Police say McLean told them he had just bought the donut while in Thorntons, but the officer spoke with the store clerk who allegedly told police, "she had not sold any pastries." The donut was "not recoverable" according to police. McLean was arrested for misdemeanor theft.
