SEATTLE -- The teen who was captured on video getting punched by a Seattle police officer after she intervened in his arrest of her friend, met with and apologized to that officer during a private meeting Friday.

A Bella Vista police officer was scentnced to only 30 days in jail and a one thousand dollar fine for shooting a suspect after a car chase.

STOCKTON, Calif. (KCRA) -- Earlier this year, a Stockton student was handcuffed with zip ties on his hands and feet, forced to go to the hospital for a psychiatric evaluation and was charged with battery on a police officer. That student was 5 years old.

A Humphreys County man sustained cracked ribs and a punctured lung after he was stripped naked by deputies, beaten and shocked repeatedly with a Taser gun, according to a Wednesday court filing.

The Jan. 23 incident was recorded by video equipment fixed to the vehicle of a Humphreys County sheriff deputy. Darren T. Ring, 34, of New Johnsonville is requesting to be released from jail, where he has been held in lieu of bond for more than five months.

As the officer handcuffed the compliant motorist, the officer explained, "I don’t like someone with a gun," while insisting, "You’re not under arrest."

The second statement is an unalloyed lie: Whenever a police officer restrains someone, that person is under arrest. The first statement is a lie by omission: If Pierson had been a police officer, Bassett would not have complained about him carrying a gun. Streamwood police officer James Mandarino is due in court at 10 a.m. to face charges of aggravated battery and official misconduct.

Mandarino's own squad camera captured the images of the 41-year old officer repeatedly hitting 28-year-old Ronald Bell after a traffic stop.
