The LA school system has banned flavored milk because it leads to obesity when consumed in large quantities (and without proper exercise). Of course, LA school system's 'food police' have already taken action against other foods it deems inappropriate and recently banned 'junk food' from any LA school campus.

Is this an attack on liberty or simply protecting our children as the Superintendent claims? Does a public school system have the right to regulate what your child eats or drinks while they're on school property; property funded with your tax dollars?

Apparently government schools in the UK are now showing "educational" pornographic cartoons to SEVEN year olds. Pretty wild stuff. In related news, the Swiss are now developing extra small condoms for children.

Wrong on several levels, it is humiliating, and it was organized by Rosemount High School administrators. And, yes, it took place in view of the children at the school, because it was during an assembly. The students were blindfolded, and then told that “someone” was going to kiss them. The “someone” was their own parents.
What is it with public (read: GOVERNMENT) schools lately? Are they trying to screw up our kids?

In the United States today, our public schools are not very good at educating our students, but they sure are great training grounds for learning how to live in a Big Brother police state control grid. One small-town Minnesota school district is taking a unique approach to keeping students safe: The police are moving in. In Jordan, south of Minneapolis, officials looking at school security after the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut decided the police would set up satellite offices in public schools. Officers will conduct some of their daily work from the schools, including taking calls and filling out paperwork, while still going out into the community to patrol or respond to emergencies.

Ever since the December 14th tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut, the issue over safety in schools around the nation has heated up. There are new debates over gun control, mental health and whether or not the brutal massacre of 20 children and 6 adults could have been prevented. Many districts in New Jersey have been hard at work ironing out new security measures and working to ensure safety of all students and staff in pre, elementary, middle, high schools and colleges. So far, one district is taking some new steps that have led to mixed feelings and raised some eyebrows.
