Does the 2nd Amendment apply to outside the home? The US Supreme Court is currently now considering 2nd amendment issues.

BELLEVUE, WA – A federal court ruling in Maryland, that the Second Amendment right to bear arms extends beyond the home and that citizens may not be required to offer a “good and substantial reason” for obtaining a concealed carry permit, is a huge victory, the Second Amendment Foundation said today.

Ruling in the case of Woollard v. Sheridan – a case brought by SAF in July 2010 on behalf of Maryland resident Raymond Woollard, who was denied his carry permit renewal – the U.S. District Court for Maryland ruled that “The Court finds that the right to bear arms is not limited to the home.”

In a somewhat surprising 9th Circuit ruling (en banc, or in front of the entire set of judges), the court ruled that the 4th Amendment does apply at the border, that agents do need to recognize there's an expectation of privacy, and cannot do a search without reason.

Obama turned the sovereignty of the United States, its Constitution and the rights of its gun owning public over to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and the member states. Many believe this decision to represent a serious threat to the right of the American people to keep and bear arms.

The Last Amendment, De-Ratification, Poll

One year after the ratification of this Amendment this Constitution and all of its Amendments shall be null and void and the Union of these States shall be dissolved. Each Sovereign State shall then be free to pursue its own destiny.

In a case going back to 2010, a Colorado judge has ruled that a woman named as a defendant in a criminal case can be forced to decrypt the contents of her laptop and files. Answering the question of 'what about her fifth amendment right to non-self-incrimination, the judge ruled the fifth amendment does not apply in this case, even though the contents of the protected files could be used to prosecute and convict her.

A state-sponsored Constitutional amendment promises to shift the balance of power from the ever-centralizing federal megastate back to sovereign Individuals and States. This Amendment tackles all of the following liberty issues - the income tax, nullification, balancing the budget, sound money, State suffrage, judicial interpretation, and others.

Advocates of liberty would do well to focus their energies on winnable battles with long-lasting solutions - such as the new Liberty Amendment.
