I was pulled out of class for not saying the pledge of allegiance

I'm in 9th grade at Booker High School in Sarasota, FL. In my first period class every morning over the intercom a voice says "Now, Booker High students please stand for the pledge." Well my friend and I sat, and didn't say anything. We believe the pledge is a waste of time and we have a right not to stand because of our beliefs. My teacher saw us and told us to stand, but we refused. So he pulled my friend and I out of class and scolded us "Now, I don't care what you believe in!! It's school policy to stand! SO STAND." Well I have a right not to stand. I will only stand and say the pledge when there truely is "LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL." What happened to freedom of speech? I may get a detention if I don't stand next time..
