A former New Hampshire state trooper who claimed he was held against his will by one of his supervisors has been awarded $1.5 million in damages.A jury ruled Friday that James Conrad was falsely imprisoned by superior officers after a physical altercation in the hallway of the Department of Safety in November 2007.

An incensed federal judge sentenced a racist Brooklyn woman to indefinite jury duty on Tuesday after she trashed the NYPD and minorities.

Indeed, the woman was going to be seeing a lot of Brooklyn Federal Court.

CHICKASHA— Grady County commissioners will pay $15,000 to a woman whose dog was fatally shot by a sheriff's deputy who had stopped to ask for directions.

Tammy Christopher initially asked for $25,000, alleging deputy Sean Knight "grossly overreacted" when he killed the dog on Aug. 25.

Federal authorities filed the civil rights charge after a Jackson County judge placed Burgess on probation. Burgess had pleaded guilty in Jackson County Circuit Court to charges of statutory sodomy and sexual assault for his actions during the July 2007 incident.

While she was driving, her passenger grabbed the wheel and caused her to crash into the wall near Lemon Avenue.

The man, 20, was driving east on U.S. Highway 40 near Strawberry Reservoir when a deputy tried to stop him for going 15 miles over the speed limit, according to Wasatch County Chief Deputy Sheriff Jared Rigby. The driver did not stop and the deputy told dispatchers he was pursuing a fleeing driver. A short time later, a dispatcher notified the deputy that the driver had called in and said “that he was not going to stop and that I needed to leave him alone,” Rigby said, reading from the deputy's report.
