According to Cinnaminson Police, a Camden man included counterfeit $20 bills while paying his $400 bail on July 7.... lousy counterfeit $20s. Run off on a color copier, apparently. --- These days, all $20 bills are becoming lousy. :-D

1. would you choose to pay your bills by printing the money you needed?
2. would you choose to pay your bills by going to the bankers for a loan?

"...the Post Office, the second-largest civilian employer in the United States after Wal-Mart with about 536,000 career workers." Amazing but not particularly surprising. Here is a solution. Since it will be difficult to delete the post office (it's a small part of the Constitution they DO choose to follow) let's require the Post Office to charge what each service actually costs! No more loosing money and it will finally give visibility to just how inefficient the institution is.

In reality, the Postal Service has been intentionally slowing down first-class mail for almost 50 years. It’s time to end the post office’s monopoly on letter delivery.

A woman fighting a terminal form of bone cancer is trying to raise money to help pay bills with a few weekend garage sales, but the city of Salem says she’s breaking the law and is shutting her down.

A significant production problem with new high-tech $100 bills has caused government printers to shut down production of the new notes, which have sophisticated high-tech security features, including a 3-D security strip and a color-shifting image of a bell designed to foil counterfeiters. But the production process is so complex, it has instead foiled the government printers tasked with producing billions of the new notes. An official said that 1.1 billion of the new bills have been printed, but they are unusable because of a creasing problem in which paper folds over during production.

Wrong on so many levels... Gordon Wozniak, a city councilman in Berkeley, Calif., has proposed an email tax to provide much-needed revenue to the ailing U.S. Postal Service. “There should be something like a bit tax,” Wozniak said. “I mean a bit tax could be a cent per-gigabit and they would still make, probably, billions of dollars a year… And there should be, also, a very tiny tax on email.” Wozniak said the bit tax could bring in revenue to help a number of sectors, beyond just the post office.

Lysander Spooner would say the problem is market intervention, that the Post Office fails because it lacks market signals and market competition. Wozniak on the other hand says the problem is email. A cheaper and faster service exists, and rather than improving the Post Office, he proposes turning the Post Office into a parasite on the superior service.
