A suburban Dallas teen-ager had to take on a waitressing job to pay $637 after being ticketed for using bad language in a high school classroom.

The unidentified sergeant collided with a school bus (no children aboard) in Houston.

An HPD spokesman said the bus driver ran a stop sign and caused the accident. But other witnesses said the officer was the one who ran a stop sign.
The bus driver said she thinks he'd been drinking.

"He smelled drunk and he had beer and wine opened in his car," Teresa Argueta said.

Other witnesses said officers at the scene threw a towel over the open containers and threatened to arrest anyone who took photos.

A 34-year-old Texas mother was arrested after police say she put PCP, also known as “angel dust”, in her 6-year-old daughter’s school lunch, according to the arrest affidavit. Police say on May 4, the girl began to exhibit behavior consistent with a person under the influence of narcotics at her elementary school. The girl said she could hear “banging in her head,” and was talking to people who were not there. The girl’s school counselor called her mother, Torina Gutierrez, and reported the incident to her, the arrest affidavit states.

Two parents are facing drug charges after their 11-year-old child took their drugs to elementary school and told a school officer his parents were breaking the law.

Matthews Police say he reported his parents after a lesson about marijuana was delivered by a police officer who is part of the D.A.R.E. program, which teaches kids about the dangers of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco.

When a six-year-old boy kicked his school principal last week, the school called in police, not parents.

The student had already been suspended for kicking and biting another official, when he allegedly threatened a teacher and kicked Principal Pat Lumbley. This time, the child was placed in police custody and charged with battery and intimidation.

Attorney Robin Ficker says Mount Carmel Area School District officials labeled the girl a "terrorist threat" for the bubble gun remark, made Jan. 10 as both girls waited for a school bus.

"Like any other state, there has to be compliance with this and any other federal law," Santorum said. "And that is that English has to be the principal language." The U.S. Constitution does not designate an official language, nor is there a requirement that a territory adopt English as its primary language in order to become a state.
