The Seattle Police Department opened an internal investigation Friday into the 2010 arrest of a 20-year-old man who was punched by an officer after police stopped to question him about leaving his car running outside a store. Sgt.

Officer Salvatore Riveri, the Baltimore City police officer seen in a You Tube video berating a teenage skateboarder at the Inner Harbor, has been fired.

Police department spokesman Anthony Guglielmi told WBAL News that Rivieri has been "separated from the department," but he could not comment further because this is a personnel matter.

In 2009 Passaic NJ Officer Joseph Rios was filmed beating a man for no apparent reason. The man is shown not physically threatening the officer or defending himself against the officer's attack. Now a Superior Judge has acquitted Rios of police brutality. Rios will now get his job back with back pay. The victim has been awarded $350,000 from the city from the beating. The taxpayers lose and the cop wins.

So he twisted the camera from reporter Geoff Davidian's hand, breaking the lens.

University policy allows a police officer to enter a room if he believes there is suspicious or illegal activity; however, the firing was based on inappropriate contact and had nothing to do with the officer's entry into the dorm room.
