The pictures below are from one of the protests that lead the President to veto the bill. Remember all that talk about torches and pitchforks? Well, Iceland went ahead and broke out the torches (ok - they're flares, technically):

Since the Iranian elections last year many Iranian people have gone out to the streets to protest a suspected fraud in the elections. During last week the biggest and bloodiest protests have gone in Tehran Iran. Now the Iranian regime is silencing the people and blocking any outside media to report.

I don't know how well you guys can hear the audience from where you're sitting, but if you listen they don't scoff when you talk about the technical specifications of the Drone, or what it will be use for, or won't. They scoff when you talk about accountability. And they scoff when you talk about transparency. And they scoff when you talk about self reporting. So what you have is a problem where the people in this room don't trust their government.

I wanted to get a feel for life during the time in history when now-dead people made the anti-substance laws that society is oppressed with today. I searched for stories in the NY Times--y'know, that most authoritative newspaper in the world. What I found shows as much about anti-drug mania and racism as it does about the credibility of the NY Times. The link is to a collection of some of the more amazing articles. Each article is included for a reason, though the part that got my attention may be at the end of the article.

Apparently, the TSA is planning to scan you beyond the airports...they're going to do it at "large events", train stations, and even pedestrians and people walking in their cars. They're going to set up "mobile scanning units".

Sopa: Sites go dark as part of anti-piracy law protests
