On June 7, 2012, I attended Pinellas County Traffic Court to support my friend Chris. Chris was in court to defend himself against a red light ticket and tried to motion the court to dismiss the case based on not just one, but many constitutional arguments. Upon Chrisâ?? motion to have a jury trial under the seventh amendment, the judge said that the seventh amendment only applied to criminal cases.

"Federal District Court Judge Suzanne Conlon has dismissed an ACLU challenge to the Illinois law that makes recording someone in a public space without their permission a felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison."

"We conclude that the carrying of concealed firearms is not protected by the Second Amendment . . ." Justice Carlos Lucero wrote on behalf of a three-judge panel of the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Lucero cited case law dating to the 1800s that put restrictions on walking around in public with a gun.

...in an extraordinarily rare move, prosecutors in Denver are seeking a court order forcing Fricosu to unlock the computer so that they can obtain files they would use to try to convict her and her ex-husband.

In a case going back to 2010, a Colorado judge has ruled that a woman named as a defendant in a criminal case can be forced to decrypt the contents of her laptop and files. Answering the question of 'what about her fifth amendment right to non-self-incrimination, the judge ruled the fifth amendment does not apply in this case, even though the contents of the protected files could be used to prosecute and convict her.

PRIMGHAR, Iowa -- U.S. District Court Judge Mark W. Bennett has ordered Osceola County Sheriff Douglas L. Weber to issue a gun permit to a resident and to complete a college-level course involving the First Amendment.

Bennett’s written decision on Wednesday involves the case of Paul Dorr, of Ocheyedan, who was denied a permit to carry a concealed weapon.

Dorr and his son, Alexander, were denied gun permits after being engaged in extensive First Amendment activity -- protesting, passing out leaflets and writing letters to the editor -- the opinion notes.

In a somewhat surprising 9th Circuit ruling (en banc, or in front of the entire set of judges), the court ruled that the 4th Amendment does apply at the border, that agents do need to recognize there's an expectation of privacy, and cannot do a search without reason.

Does the 2nd Amendment apply to outside the home? The US Supreme Court is currently now considering 2nd amendment issues.

Individual liberty, freedom and sovereignty of the people will be restored in a representative republican form of government by clarifying the original spirit and intent of the Constitution. The Liberty Amendment will give back to the Constitution its full force and effect in limiting the powers and activities of the Federal Government and restoring those powers reserved to the States and to the people. The Liberty Amendment, proposed, could become the 28th Amendment to the Constitution.
