Det. Martin Brown invited to a community meeting about concerns of police brutality was refused entry into Muhammad Mosque No. 7 (the local headquarters of the Nation of Islam) because he refused to relinquish and his badge and gun.

Organizer Abdul Kareem Muhammad said "It's standard mosque procedure not to let police authorities into the mosque with their weapons or their badges."

Muhammad said the logistical snafu hasn't affected the committee's desire to keep an open line of communication with the NYPD about their mission to stop police abuse.

It may very well be that the FBI successfully and within legal limits arrested a dangerous criminal intent on carrying out a serious Terrorist plot that would have killed many innocent people, in which case they deserve praise.

Judge Robert Corlew ruled Tuesday that plans to construct the mosque are null and void. Corlew said that by not giving people adequate notice for meetings on the proposal the county violated state law when it approved construction plans for the Islamic center.
