SEATTLE -- The teen who was captured on video getting punched by a Seattle police officer after she intervened in his arrest of her friend, met with and apologized to that officer during a private meeting Friday.

Jewel Hall told the Albuquerque Journal that Milton Hall was her only son and "they didn't have to kill him." She said witnesses told her that her son walked into a store for coffee and "either forgot to pay for it or made a remark to the clerk," which is why the clerk called police. She said he was holding a "plastic knife, like you would get in the convenience store,"...Milton Hall's cousin, Michael Washington, told The Saginaw News "Milton wouldn't hurt a fly" at his funeral.

Lowe's has pulled its advertising from the reality TV show "All-American Muslim," which the retail store called a "lightning rod."
"All-American Muslim" is an eight-part series that follows five Muslim families living in Dearborn, Michigan.
"Lowe's has received a significant amount of communication on this program, from every perspective possible. Individuals and groups have strong political and societal views on this topic, and this program became a lightning rod for many of those views. As a result we did pull our advertising on this program," the company said in a statement Saturday.

Brighton resident Mordechai Rennert was just stepping down from the podium after asking a series of questions at the June 23rd board meeting when the Town Clerk turned to then Police Chief Thomas Voelkl and said (regarding Rennert) "Can you shoot him? I'll take responsibility."
