Iowans are selling rare Templeton Rye whiskey on eBay, causing state police to arrest sellers for bootlegging. Police spokesman Rex Banner assures the public they will put an end to this menace. State officials say only licensed establishments may sell liquor and only at specific sites, and that online sales amount to bootlegging, which had its infamous heyday during Prohibition.

In Iowa, bootlegging is a serious misdemeanor that can carry a fine of up to $2,000 and a year in jail.

Please, yes he could have really raped two women who know each other, in two separate incidents — even though he knows that an arrest can be made at any time. He knows full well that the U.S. has a long reach and other governments cooperate. He knows there are people who want to silence him. He knows it is not a matter of if, it is only a matter of when.

But how much sense does that make? It’s not logical.

Not impossible, of course. But there is something else that is possible: People do get removed if they become a problem to the higher-ups within the political class.

I was checking out this new show and was surprised to find the main character promoting ideas on jury nullification, ending drug prohibition, and exposing the "justice" system for what it really is. This show seems promising so far.

I don't suppose the "steep taxes" had anything to do with it.

Not content with driving cigarette sales out-of-state with high taxes, New York Michael Bloomberg has begun a "partnership" aimed at “reducing alcohol retail outlet density" and "reduc[ing] the exposure to alcohol products and bar advertising and promotion in retail." Hey, it worked in the 1920s, right?
