A sweeping ban on plastic grocery bags will go into effect July 1 for unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County. Paper bags will still be available, but customers will be charged 10 cents per bag. Beginning July 1, 67 large supermarkets and pharmacies must stop providing disposable plastic bags. By January 2012, the ban will cover about 1,000 smaller stores.

Neighborhood replacing police officers?? This shows that well trained police officers should NOT be replaced by vigilante neighborhood watches. Just goes to show that the constant bashing of police officers on this show may be a bit misguided perhaps.

A local neighborhood is furious after firefighters watched as an Obion County, Tennessee, home burned to the ground.
The homeowner, Gene Cranick, said he offered to pay whatever it would take for firefighters to put out the flames, but was told it was too late. They wouldn't do anything to stop his house from burning.
