The fact that your vote will not change the results actually is a great plus for you! Now you can simply vote your conscience and not have to worry about your "vote being wasted". Voting for someone or some issue that you don't really believe in is really unethical. For most people, to do so is upsetting and shameful. So, don't bother. Number 1, do your duty and vote and number 2, vote your conscience. I think you will feel a whole lot better about it.

The Justice Department has ordered Florida, a likely key swing state in the 2012 election, to end a controversial voter purge that has primarily targeted Latino, Democratic and independent-minded voters. The Justice Department says the process had not been cleared under the Voting Rights Act. Some Democratic politicians have expressed fear the purge could help Mitt Romney win the state in November. "What we’ve seen in Florida is an effort on a massive scale by Governor [Rick] Scott to suppress the vote, to make it more difficult for people to vote," says Rep. Ted Deutch (D-FL).

"Doug: No. I've thought about this a lot, so let me give you five reasons why no one should vote."

"The first reason is that voting is an unethical act, in and of itself"

"Which relates to the second reason: privacy."

"That would be because it's a degrading experience."

The Senate is gearing up for a vote on Monday or Tuesday that goes to the very heart of who we are as Americans. Most people do not realize that the Republican primary races do not determine the nominee in the various states. Delegates are chosen after the popular election in a separate vote at a state convention by party insiders. This process is rarely reported in the main stream media.

How dare people vote to control their own lives! This is an outrage. Don't they know that mommy government always knows best? Do they think they own their bodies or something? Silly slaves. (I hope my new sarcasm font works.)

The idea that democracy works better when informed people vote would seem to make sense. However, the case for informed voting breaks down when we consider the difficulties of being well-informed about political options.
